5G phones account for 68% of China's November mobile phone shipments

In November, China shipped 20.13 million 5G phones, accounting for 68.1% of all cell phone shipments in the same period, according to data from the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT), a government think tank.

From January to November, China shipped a total of 144 million 5G phones and launched 199 new models, accounting for 51.4% and 47.7% of the total market respectively.

In November, China's cell phone market as a whole shipped 29.58 million units, down 15.1% year-on-year.

From January to November, the shipment volume of China's cell phone market totaled 281 million units, down 21.5% year-on-year.

In November, shipments of locally branded cell phones totaled 22.68 million units, down 27.7% year-on-year, accounting for 76.7% of the total cell phone shipments in the same period.

From January to November, shipments of locally branded cell phones totaled 249 million units, down 23.6% year-over-year, accounting for 88.5% of the total shipments in the same period.
