Shares of US-listed Chinese EV makers were higher in pre-market trading on October 5 as positive news spurs investor interest.
At press time, NIO (NYSE: NIO) was up 2.74 percent, XPeng (NYSE: XPEV) was up 4.56 percent and Li Auto (NASDAQ: LI) was up 2.84 percent.
NIO said on Friday it delivered 12,206 vehicles in the three months to September 2020, up 154.3 percent from the same period last year.
In September, NIO delivered 4,708 vehicles, a new monthly record representing a 133.2% year-over-year growth.
The deliveries consisted of 3,210 ES6s, its 5-seater high-performance premium smart electric SUV, 1,482 ES8s, its 6-seater and 7-seater flagship premium smart electric SUV, and 16 EC6s, its 5-seater premium electric coupe SUV.
NIO said today it has provided more than one million free battery swaps to users as of October 5, 2020, with a maximum of more than 500 battery swaps for a single vehicle.
NIO said, based on the cost of 180 yuan per time, the service has a cumulative savings of more than 100 million yuan for users.
Up to now, NIO has deployed 155 battery swap stations in China and built the battery swap networks along the G2 Beijing-Shanghai Expressway and G4 Beijing-Hong Kong-Macau Expressway.
XPeng said on October 4 that it delivered 8,578 vehicles in the third quarter, up 266 percent year on year, and a new high for quarterly deliveries.

In the third quarter, XPeng delivered 6,210 P7s and 2,368 G3s.
Total deliveries for September 2020 were 3,478 units, up 145% year on year, and a 31% increase from August, setting a new high for a single month in 2020.
Li Auto said on Friday it delivered a record 8,660 vehicles in the third quarter of 2020, up 31.1 percent from the second quarter and a new high for quarterly deliveries.

With 3,504 vehicles delivered in September, the Li ONE was up 29.3 percent from the previous month, the third consecutive month that the Li ONE has seen an increase in deliveries.
In total, the Li ONE delivered 18,160 units from January to September 2020.
The company started mass production of its first and only model, Li ONE, in November 2019.
As of September 30, 2020, Li Auto had 35 retail stores covering 30 cities in China. Looking ahead, the company is confident to further expand its direct sales and servicing network nationwide, it said.
