The Chengdu-Chongqing high-speed railway line is being upgraded and will be opened for debugging after the National Day. After the debugging is completed, the whole operation of high-speed rail from Chengdu to Chongqing will be shortened to less than one hour, Xinhua News Agency quoted China Railway Construction Corporation (CRCC) as saying on October 5.
At present, the speed standard of China's high-speed rail is 250 to 350 kilometers per hour but has not reached 350 kilometers per hour, and the Chengdu-Chongqing high-speed rail is currently operating at 300 kilometers per hour.
CRCC sources said the Chengdu-Chongqing high-speed railway is the first high-speed railway renovation project in China, which will set a precedent and model standard for the speed increase of the same type of high-speed railway in China.
The Chengdu-Chongqing high-speed railway is an important part of the country's main high-speed railway corridor, Xinhua reported. Therefore, the situation of the road reconstruction project is completely different from the normal reconstruction plan, and in order to ensure that normal traffic will not be affected, the road implemented a policy of daytime traffic and nighttime construction.
In contrast, in normal ordinary railway line renovation projects, dynamic testing is usually carried out after static acceptance, and only afterward can speed-up tests be carried out, and finally the opening is completed.
The Chengdu-Chongqing section of the railway has been undergoing quality improvement since last year, but the earliest improvement was planned to increase the speed to 330 km/h only.
