ZTE's first-half revenue was RMB 47.199 billion, up 5.81% year-on-year, according to the company's financial report released today.
ZTE's operating profit in the first half of the year was RMB 2.841 billion, an increase of 21.23% year-on-year. Net profit was RMB 1.857 billion, an increase of 26.29% year-on-year.
ZTE's investment in research and development in the first half of the year was RMB 6.637 billion, accounting for 14.06% of revenue.

Its operating revenue in the Chinese market was RMB 31.751 billion, accounting for 67.27% of the overall operating revenue.
ZTE's operating revenue in the international market was RMB 15.448 billion, accounting for 32.73 percent of the overall operating revenue.
ZTE stated that in the first half of 2020, uncertainties in the international market increased, and the company overcame difficulties and maintained its globalization strategy.
It continued to focus on the market of large-country operators and leading multinational telecom operators, optimized its revenue structure, further improved its turnover efficiency, and maintained a solid overall operation in the international market, the company said.
ZTE's operator network achieved an operating income of RMB 34.970 billion in the first half of 2020, while its consumer business achieved an operating income of RMB 7.413 billion.
According to the report, ZTE is a major contributor and participant in global 5G technology research and standard-setting.
As of June 30, 2020, ZTE Corporation had about 76,000 global patent applications and held more than 36,000 validly granted patents.
The global patent layout of 5G strategy is over 5,000 pieces, ranking ZTE in the first camp of the global 5G strategy.
