Chinese ride-hailing platform Didi Chuxing announced its entry into Russia today, making the country its ninth overseas market and the first European country it has entered.
In May, Russia embarked on a plan to restart its economy after the Covid-19 epidemic stabilized, while Didi stepped up preparations for Russian operations.
In late July, Didi established a 24/7 manned customer service center and driver service center in Kazan, while rolling out security measures and starting to recruit local drivers.
Since 2018, Didi has accelerated its internationalization and has now launched travel, delivery and same-city delivery services in key markets such as Brazil, Mexico, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Panama, Australia and Japan, with a cumulative total of more than 1 billion orders completed a year.
