The non-Pro Mate40 will not have a very wide distribution around the world, as Huawei finds itself short on the Kirin chipsets required in their manufacture, said famed leaker Evan Blass on Twitter.
The situation faced by the Mate40, codenamed Ocean, is because of the US pressure on its fabrication partner, Blass said without naming TSMC.
Huawei shipped 105 million phones worldwide in the first half of the year, Huawei Consumer Business CEO Richard Yu said at an event on August 7.
He said Huawei will launch its next-generation flagship phone, the Mate40 series, with its Kirin chip in September.

However, Huawei's world-leading Kirin series of chips could not be manufactured after September 15 due to US sanctions, Yu said.
