Huawei Consumer Business CEO Richard Yu said on Weibo today that a heavyweight new product will be released in Shanghai on August 19.
He didn't reveal what will be released, but previous reports said that Huawei will release a new laptop in August, which will support Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.0.
The new Huawei MateBook laptop has previously appeared in the Geekbench database.
The model number of the laptop is HUAWEI HLYL-WXX9 and it is powered by the R7 4800H processor. It has an 8-core 16-thread, 2.90-4.26GHz, and comes with 16GB of DDR4 2666 RAM.
On Monday, Weibo bloggerย ย @้ฟๅฎๆฐ็ ๅ said that Huawei will be adding a 3K floating full-screen with a metal-bezel-less design to the new high-end laptops.
According to the blogger, the design of Huawei's laptops will offer users an ultra-clear view and a more immersive viewing experience.
In the meantime, Huawei has reportedly launched the Nanniwan project, meant to circumvent products containing US technology.
Huawei launches backup plan to push for products that use entirely its own technology
The Nanniwan mass production campaign, or the army's mass production activities in Nanniwan during the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, was aimed at overcoming economic difficulties, achieving self-sufficiency in production, and sustaining a lasting war of resistance.
Huawei named the project after Nanniwan, meaning "during difficult times, it is hoped to achieve self-sufficiency."
It's not clear if the new heavyweight product is the one with 3K floating full-screen or the one related to the Nanniwan project.
