Xiaomi's senior product director Li Chuangqi said today that the company will release the second generation of e-book reader this year.
A MI e-book reader has got Bluetooth certification on July 23 with a model number XMDKDZS02MA, which may be the second generation of Xiaomi e-book reader.
Currently, the field of the e-book reader is dominated by Amazon Kindle, and both the system, content resources, hardware design are very mature.
Xiaomi develops its e-book reader jointly with its subsidiary Duokan, such as the first generation of Xiaomi e-book reader.
Duokan Technology was founded in February 2010 and was wholly acquired by Xiaomi in 2012.
Duokan is popular among readers due to its excellent layout system and features such as PDF rearrangement, gallery mode, automatic page-turning, voice reading, and eye protection mode, etc. The first generation of Xiaomi Mi e-book reader was provided by Duokan.
The first generation Xiaomi Duokan ebook features a 6-inch 212 PPI ink screen and a built-in 24-level reading light. It has 16GB of storage + 1GB of RAM and is powered by a 4-core CPU and Android 8.1.
The official price of the first generation Xiaomi Mi Duokan eBook is 599 yuan.
