Apple to release its first ARM-based 13-inch MacBook Pro and MacBook Air by the end of 2020, according to Digitimes.
The report cites sources as saying that Taiwan's supply chain will begin shipping backlit parts and other components of the next generation of MacBooks in the third quarter of this year.
The report said Apple will release an ARM processor-powered 13-inch MacBook Pro and MacBook Air by the end of the year. Total shipments of the MacBooks are expected to reach 16-17 million units by the end of the year.
At WWDC in June, Apple announced that its Mac computers would switch from Intel chips to its own Apple Silicon chips. Apple says that the transition would take about two years.
