Huawei was the first in China to complete a recent 5G equipment security test with a 100% pass rate.
The test was sponsored by the IMT-2020 (5G) Promotion Group and judged by China's Infocomm Research Institute, China Mobile, China Telecom, and China Unicom. The test participants include Huawei, ZTE, Ericsson, Datang Telecom, and Shanghai Nokia Bell.
The completion of the test marks an important milestone in the development of 5G network security in China and helps operators in deploying 5G network while planning for 5G security capabilities.
This test is based on the IMT-2020 (5G) Promotion Group's 5G security standard which is based on the 3GPP 5G safety and security international standard (SCAS), and is also based on the use cases in China.
The test object includes 5G base stations and core network element devices (including AMF, SMF, NRF, UPF, AUSF). The test covers general security, business function security, transmission security, operation and maintenance security, and physical security.
General security includes data and information protection, availability and integrity protection, security of operating systems and web services, vulnerability, and software package security.
