Pony Ma, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Tencent, reduced his stake in the company by 500,000 shares on June 30 and July 3. Based on the current Tencent share price of HK$516, Pony Ma cashed out about HK$258 million.
Martin Lau, Tencent's president, also reduced his stake in Tencent by 500,000 shares on June 30 and July 3.
Recently, Pony Ma has reduced his Tencent stock holdings several times, from June 9 to 12, Pony Ma reduced Tencent's shareholding by a total of 9,647,800 shares in 4 trading days.
The average transaction price was between HK$433.4 and HK$450.27 per share, resulting in total cash out of approximately HK$4.27 billion.
Pony Ma also sold his shares in Tencent for 4 consecutive trading days between 14 January and 17 January this year. He sold a total of 5 million shares and cashed out nearly HK$2 billion during that time.
Lau also reduced his stake in the company at almost the same time.
In early January and early April this year, Lau reduced his holdings in Tencent Holdings by 500,000 and 600,000 shares respectively.
On May 29 and June 1 this year, Lau further reduced its shareholding in Tencent by 60,000 shares in two trading days, cashing out HK$192 million and HK$227 million.
As of June 1, Lau had reduced his stake in Tencent by 1.7 million shares this year.
