Huawei filed an EUIPO (European Union Intellectual Property Office) trademark application on July 3 for "Mate V", which is classified in Class 9 and its description includes smartphones, mobile phones, and more, according to LetsGoDigital.
It's unclear which product Huawei will use the trademark for, but it's likely to be a new device with a foldable screen that will be launched this year.
Details about the device are scarce, but the report claims that Huawei will opt for an internal folding design this time. There were also reports that it will have a 120 Hz screen.
Huawei's Mate 40 premium smartphone series is expected to launch around October this year, and during the same period, Huawei will also launch the A new foldable smartphone.
Some time ago, it was rumored that Huawei has opted for an internal foldable design this time, similar to the Samsung Galaxy Fold.
