Maye Musk, the mother of Tesla founder Elon Musk, today announced she has opened an account on Weibo, the Chinese version of Twitter.
She says she will share her story here, and that her new book, "A Woman Makes A Plan," has been published.
Maye is 72 years old, and her Weibo account is @MayeMusk, which is certified by Weibo as a model and registered dietitian in the United States.
Maye's first Weibo post was published on April 23, when she said she was new there and was still figuring things out.
With today's formal announcement, she made a brief introduction of herself in a video which has been played 170,000 times.
She now has more than 2,100 followers.
Born in Canada, Maye moved to South Africa with her family when she was two years old.
At the age of 15, she became a model and at the age of 20, she married Musk, a computer engineer she had known for a long time in high school.
After three years of marriage and three children, Maye opted for a divorce at the age of 31 due to relationship problems, taking her three children with her.
Elon Musk has said in an interview that she has had a hard life, but she never complains and is always smiling whenever he sees her.
He claims that this attitude is the most valuable asset she has brought to him.
