After being removed from the Google Play Store last week, Kuaishou's short video app Zynn today was also removed by Apple from the App Store.
Zynn previously said that Google Play removed it due to a piece of UCG content and has communicated effectively with Google to get it back as soon as possible.
Zynn was launched on Android and iOS platforms in early May this year, topping the iOS free app download charts at the end of May and also becoming one of the top 10 downloads in the Google Play Store.
Zynn's rapid rise to popularity is due in part to its rewards system: it offers cash rewards to users for watching videos and inviting friends.
Users receive $1 for signing up, $20 for referring the first user, and $10 for each subsequent referral of 5 users.
These rewards can be redeemed for gift cards or cash. Common Sense Media, a non-profit media watchdog group, called Zynn's move a "pyramid scheme".
In a subsequent response, Zynn said that a checkup revealed that the video in question was a UGC upload and indeed copied content from other platforms.
After being taken down, Zynn has quickly and seriously addressed the video in question and communicated with Google to get back to the Play Store as soon as possible.
