In the first quarter, the top three vendors in China's storage market shipments were Huawei, Hikvision, Inspur, IDC recently released data show.
Huawei, Hikvision shipments fell 1.2% and 8.6% year-on-year, Inspur storage shipments increased 49.8%.
China's external storage market as a whole shipped 34,000 units in the first quarter, down 18.4% year-on-year, sales USD 686.6 million, down 7.9% year-on-year.
IDC believes that China's storage market will decline in the short term due to a contraction in storage demand in some industries as a result of the novel coronavirus outbreak.
However, as the outbreak is effectively contained, China's storage market will gradually return to growth.
The epidemic has prompted organizations to accelerate the adoption of technologies and IT delivery models that help optimize IT infrastructure resources, and Internet healthcare, digital government, remote offices, digital education, and unmanned sales have shown stronger demand for increased IT infrastructure purchases, resulting in storage market growth.
IDC predicts that China's storage market will continue to grow positively through 2020.
