Network attached storage (NAS) device maker Synology has recently released its own brand of SSDs, with SATA 3 and M.2 interface options.
The SATA 3 interface is a 2.5-inch sized model, called the SAT5200 series, with capacities including 480GB. 960GB and 1920GB.
It has a maximum sequential read speed of 530MB/s and a maximum sequential write speed of 500MB/s.
The 1920GB has a 4K random read speed of 98K IOPS and a random write speed of 60K IOPS.
The M.2 version is divided into the SNV3400 (M.2 2280) and SNV3500 series (M.2 22110), which are PCIe 3.0 x4 lanes.
Currently available in 400GB capacity versions only, with a nominal maximum sequential read speed of 3100MB/s and a maximum write speed of 550MB only. /The random read speed is 205K IOPS and the maximum write speed is 40K IOPS.
Synology says it does the same for its own Flashstation, Diskstation series NAS. The SAT5200 series is optimized and has passed long-term load tests, especially for virtualized load scenarios.
The SAT5200 series is capable of 1.3 full disk writes per day, with an average downtime of 1.5 million hours.
