Despite the escalation of the US ban, Huawei seems to be making steady progress on its Mate 40 and P50 series, which are expected to be launched with the 5nm next-generation Kirin processor.
"Although the US imposed further sanctions on Huawei in May, I guarantee that Huawei will release the Mate 40 series based on 5nm Kirin processor as planned in October," said Weibo user @手机晶片达人.
He added that the shipments of the Mate 40 series in the fourth quarter is expected to reach 8 million.
Twitter user RODENT950 has previously revealed that Huawei's next-generation flagship chip is named the Kirin 1000, built by TSMC's 5nm process.
The Kirin 1000 development codename is "Baltimore", due to the Kirin 990 5G using the Cortex A76 architecture, so the Kirin 1000 may use the Cortex A77 or A78 architecture, CPU and GPU performance will be greatly improved.
And as usual, each new generation of Huawei's Kirin processors will be released in the fall, premiered by the Mate series.
According to Huawei's existing product line layout to speculate, the Mate 40 series is expected to have the Mate 40, Mate 40 Pro, Mate 40 RS Porsche design, etc., is not yet sure if there will be a "supersized" Mate 40 Pro +.
Recently, Huawei's general manager of the P series, Wang Yonggang, revealed the development progress of the P50 series in a program.
He said that the P series of products from the concept design to product launch to at least 18 months of polishing, a year in advance with the global R & D center on innovative technologies and solutions identified, and then into the detailed development stage.
He said that each generation of P-series products is based on the cutting-edge capabilities of Huawei's R&D and industry partners to achieve new breakthroughs, and next year's P50 will certainly have more surprises.
As usual, the Huawei P50 series will make its global debut in March next year.
By this reckoning, the technical solutions for the P50 series have already been finalized and are in the development stage.
Like the Mate 40 series, the P50 series will also be powered by a 5nm Kirin processor, while being more biased in terms of photography and aesthetic design.
