The new Honor Play4 series was launched at an online event today, bringing the first 5G phone to support infrared temperature measurement.
The back camera module of the Honor Play4 Pro supports infrared temperature measurement by including an infrared temperature sensor that receives infrared energy to determine the temperature of the object being measured.
It can detect minus 20 degrees Celsius to 100 degrees Celsius and has a minimum index value of 0.1 degrees Celsius, which Honor says is less fragile and safer than traditional mercury thermometers.
In order to avoid interference with the temperature measurement data by the heat of the phone itself, Honor introduced a semi-tight, large thermal capacity, low-reflection, homogeneous system after extensive experimentation.
According to Honor, this achieves the heat-following effect of the ambient temperature, sensor temperature and the temperature of the peripheral monocrystalline silicon lens and its metal bracket, so that the effect of the conventional heat generation of the mobile phone on the temperature test results is less than ±0.06℃.
In daily life, users can use it to measure the temperature of boiling water and hot tea to avoid hot water burns.
Families with small children can also use the infrared function of the Honor Play4 Pro to measure their child's body temperature, or to measure the temperature of the water used to brew milk powder.
The Honor Play4 series includes the Honor Play4 and the Honor Play4 Pro, the former powered by the flagship Kirin 990 chip and the latter by the MediaTek Dimensity 800 chip.
The Honor Play4 Pro is powered by the Kirin 990 flagship chip with a CPU up to 2.86GHZ, a 16-core GPU and Huawei's own Da Vinci architecture NPU.
Honor Play4 Pro supports 40W superfast charging and NFC smart card selection.
The Honor Play4 is powered by the Kirin 800 chip, built with a 7nm process and features an 8-core architecture.
It supports APU 3.0 and adapts a latency-determining engine for game scenarios to centrally schedule all CPU performance into the game; it comes with Game Assistant 2.0.
It supports SA/NSA dual-mode networking, multiple roaming bands, 1T4R antenna selection design.
The Honor Play4 phone is priced at 1,799 yuan for the 6GB+128GB version and 1,999 for the 8GB+128GB version. It will go on sale on June 12 at 10 a.m.
The Honor Play4 Pro 8GB+128GB Edition is priced at 2,899 yuan and the Honor Play4 Pro 8GB+128GB Infrared Thermometer Edition is priced at 2,999 yuan. It will open for pre-sale at 18:00 today and 10:00 a.m. on June 9.
