On the afternoon of May 18, at Huawei's 17th Global Analyst Conference, Huawei rotating chairman Guo Ping and other executives were interviewed by the media.
Wang Yanmin, president of Huawei's consumer business BG Global Ecological Development, revealed that the number of registered Huawei HMS ecological developers has grown 150 percent to 1.4 million.
In February of this year, Huawei announced the number of registered developers at 1.3 million.
After being listed as an entity by the United States, Huawei's mobile phone products cannot be pre-installed with Google's GMS service. At last year's developer conference, Huawei opened its HMS ecosystem to the public, replacing Google's GMS service.
At the P40 series handset launch in March this year, Huawei announced that the P40 series handset will come with its own HMS service and AppGallery app store, without the use of Google's GMS and Play store, making it the first time Huawei has fully implemented its own services on its flagship.
Huawei HMS has reached more than 170 countries worldwide, with 400 million monthly active users.
Despite Huawei's desire to use GMS services, it seems hopeless in the short term. In the future, HMS will take up the heavy responsibility of Huawei's terminal ecology.
