China Unicom and ZTE sign 6G strategic agreement-CnTechPost

On May 17, China Unicom and ZTE Corporation signed a 6G joint strategic cooperation agreement.

According to the strategic cooperation agreement, the two sides will give full play to their respective innovation advantages in the 6G field, jointly explore the 6G target vision and technology trends, and carry out research on potential key technologies of 6G systems.

China Unicom said that China Unicom and ZTE are long-term partners, with in-depth cooperation and fruitful achievements in network technology.

On the one hand, the two sides will promote cooperation around 6G technology innovation and standards, and on the other hand, they will actively promote the deep integration of 6G with satellite networks, Internet of Things, car networks, industrial Internet, to realize the expansion of operator services and services.

ZTE Corporation said it will spare no effort to continue to promote its strategic cooperation with Unicom for the 6G network in 2030. The two companies will conduct research on key 6G high potential technologies, including air-space integration technology, terahertz communication technology, and visible light communication technology.

The two companies will also verify their technical feasibility through testing and trials to achieve the 6G network performance targets of 1Tbps peak data rate, 20Gbps subscriber data rate, 100Gbps/m3 service capacity and other KPIs.

2020 to 2023 will be a research window for 6G network requirements, architecture and enabling technologies.

China Unicom and ZTE will build on their experience and technology accumulation in large-scale commercial networks to contribute more and stronger innovative technologies to the long-term evolution of global 6G networks.
