SenseTime enables facial recognition for subway ride in China-CnTechPost

Chinese AI firm SenseTime recently launched an AI-powered facial recognition subway ride solution with partners including China Construction Bank.

This solution has been successfully applied in cities including Zhengzhou and Xi'an.

The system relies on the SenseTime "SenseMeteor Intelligent Rail Transit Platform" to realize the mutual passage of face codes in the field of rail transportation, that is, passengers can choose to swipe their faces or 2D codes in either way to enter or exit the station.

With this new mode of travel, the efficiency of passenger movement will be greatly improved in metro stations with concentrated passenger traffic.

At the same time, the contact-free gate crossing method can also avoid the contact of physical cards and banknotes, greatly reducing the risk of cross-infection during the epidemic.

At present, this system has been completed and opened in Zhengzhou Metro 2 lines, Xi'an Metro network, and will be deployed and opened in the near future in the Harbin network of 27 stations.
