Previously it was reported that the new OnePlus Z will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 1000 5G chip, but according to Twitter user Max J (@MaxJmb), the OnePlus Z is expected to feature the Snapdragon 765 5G chip.
Max J claims that OnePlus did plan to have a MediaTek Dimensity 1000 chip in the OnePlus Z earlier, but then changed mind.
I guess he wasn't wrong but the company might have just changed it's decision - but that's happens with leaks. Ishan is usually pretty accurate so nothing to blame here.

The Dimensity 1000/Snapdragon 765 are both made with a 7nm process, the former using the more powerful ARM Cortex-A77 high-performance core but lacking support for mmWave 5G.
If the news is true, the OnePlus Z will be the first phone in the OnePlus lineup to feature the Snapdragon mid-range chip.
Reports claim that the OnePlus Z will feature a 6.4-inch Full HD + 90Hz AMOLED perforated display with a 48MP rear triple camera scheme, a 4,000mAh battery and support for 30W fast charging.
