Apple plans to release a new AirPods Pro with the same design as the existing AirPods Pro, but it has no active noise cancellation function, which can reduce the price, DigiTimes reported citing supply chain sources.
Apple originally planned to launch the new AirPods in May 2020, but supply chain sources believe that due to the impact of the global health crisis, Apple may have to postpone the press conference until the second half of 2020 or even 2021.
According to sources, Apple has been unable to send employees to the production line in Asia to check the status of the new AirPods Pro.
But sources said that so far, Apple has not made any adjustments to the release time of this headset.
The report said that this headset is called the new AirPods Pro, but it is likely that the final name is the third generation AirPods.
Appleโs current product lineup includes the second-generation AirPods with cable charging case, priced at $159, the second-generation AirPods with wireless charging case, priced at $199, and the AirPods Pro with wireless charging case, priced at $249.
