Chinese tech firm ONYX releases new e-ink reader for $166-CnTechPost

Chinese technology company ONYX today released the BOOX Poke 2 reader, which is equipped with a normal e-ink screen instead of a color e-ink screen that was anticipated.

The "color screen reader" previously mentioned by ONYX should be other devices to be released in the future.

BOOX Poke 2 uses a 6-inch screen, weighs 150g, and has a thickness of 6.8mm. Itโ€™s priced at 1,180 yuan (USD 166).

The BOOX Poke 2 screen is 300ppi with a resolution of 1448 ร— 1072 and 16 gray levels.

ONYX said that the new machine uses Regal global refresh, refreshing the page with almost no afterimages. BOOX Poke 2 supports cold and warm color temperature, dual 32-level brightness adjustment.

BOOX Poke 2 is equipped with a new generation of processors, the overall performance is 10% higher than the previous generation, and the power consumption is reduced by 30%.

It has 2GB memory + 32GB storage space and uses Android 9 system.
