Samsung will begin mass production of parts for its next-generation foldable smartphones in mid-May, according to Sammobile.
Samsung has completed the trial production of the Galaxy Fold 2 and finalized the design of the flagship product to be launched in August.
Industry sources from South Korea say that Samsung should start assembling the Galaxy Fold 2 phone within a few weeks after producing the first parts.
In other words, according to Samsung โs past leaks before the official release of the smartphone, the Galaxy Fold 2 may have leaked in real life in June.
There have been rumors that the Galaxy Fold 2 will be released with the Galaxy Note 20, but it remains to be seen whether Samsung โs second Unpacked event this year is still online.
In any case, this will be Samsung โs third foldable Android phone, following in the footsteps of the recently released Galaxy Z Flip and Galaxy Fold generation.
Compared with the first generation of Galaxy Fold, Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 is more similar to Galaxy Z Flip design.
Another aspect is weight. Samsung reportedly found a way to make its foldable phone lighter.ย For reference, the Samsung Galaxy Fold weighs 276g, while the Galaxy Z Flip weighs 183g.
