A core suppliers list released on Sunday by a Weibo digital blogger showed most of the parts of Huawei P40 series are from Chinese suppliers.
The blogger said that, in addition to the processor, audio, control and other chips that Huawei independently developed, most of the accessories are also Chinese suppliers, and none of them come from the United States.
The list shows that the components of the P40 Pro and Pro+ camera modules are from Sony, LARGAN Precision, Sunny Optical, OFILM, Luxvisions, Q Tech, and Crystal-Optech.
The fingerprint recognition comes from Goodix, OFILM, Q Tech. The appearance protection comes from Lens Technology and Biel Crystal. The screen is BOE, LGD.
On March 27, BOE Vice President Yuan Feng once said on Weibo that the P40 and P40 Pro used BOE flexible screens.
Earlier, Huawei Consumer Business CEO Richard Yu revealed in an interview with the media that the cost of each P40 camera is $100 and may even exceed $100.
Previously, a teardown by technology media "XYZone" shows that the core components of the P40 Pro are mainly from mainland China (mainly Huawei's self-developed chips), Taiwan, South Korea and Japan.
However, the products of American companies such as Skyworks, Qorvo and Qualcomm still appear in the RF front-end devices.
It is reported that before Huawei issued a ban in the United States, some key devices have been stocked, so it is not surprising that the P40 series still has American components, and it is not easy for the 5G RF front end to completely avoid Qorvo and Skyworks.
The analysis pointed out that the number of U.S. components previously stocked by Huawei should be prepared in accordance with the amount required by Huawei for normal growth in the next two years, which also means that some of Huawei ’s current U.S. components The inventory may still be able to support its demand next year.
This also left Huawei more time to complete the replacement of US-based devices through self-research and other non-US suppliers.
