At the product launch event on March 30, Honor President George Zhao unveiled the Kirin 820 5G processor, which is an upgraded version of the 7nm Kirin 810 processor in 2019. The 5G capability is the same as the Kirin 990 5G.
George Zhao said that Kirin 820 will allow more young people to enjoy the joy of 5G and make 5G universal.
This is an SoC processor with integrated 5G baseband, which supports strong 5G capabilities. George Zhao announced that this processor will be a new height that other brands are closely following but unable to reach.
The Kirin 820 integrates eight CPU cores, including one large-core magic change A76 2.36GHz, three mid-core A76 2.22GHz, and four small-core A55 1.84GHz. The multi-core performance is 27% higher than Kirin 810.
It also integrates a six-core Mali-G57 GPU, with a 38% performance increase, and supports GPU Turbo and Kirin Gaming + 2.0 technologies.
Also integrated is a self-developed architecture NPU unit, a single large core, with a performance increase of up to 73%, and ETH AI-benchmark running scores of up to 60834, far ahead of friends.
Kirin ISP 5.0 image processing unit supports BM3D SLR image noise reduction and video dual-domain noise reduction. ISP throughput rate increased by 15%, energy efficiency increased by 15%, photo noise reduction ability increased by 30%, and video noise reduction ability increased by 20%.
Prior to this, the 7nm Kirin 810 processor won the Best Mobile Processor award from The Linely Group.
The award selection criteria include processor performance, industry influence, and other aspects. Participation in the selection of processor chips includes high, medium, and low-end products on the market.
In the end, the Kirin 810 processor defeated a large number of competitors and won awards by virtue of its far superior performance and market performance of the dark horse.
