Huawei aims to make Kunpeng compatible with 90% of applications in 3 years

Hou Jinlong, President of Huawei Cloud and Computing Business, said at the Huawei Developer Conference 2020 (Cloud) media communication meeting that he hopes to make  90% of applications be able to run on Kunpeng processor in 3 years.  

At present, many industries including finance, government and public utilities, operators, energy, and the Internet are using Kunpeng.

At the conference, Huawei announced further measures of the “Fertile Soil Plan 2.0”. It will invest 200 million US dollars in 2020 to promote the development of Kunpeng's computing industry, and announced supporting details for universities, start-ups, developers and partners.

Huawei focuses on doing a good job of processors, boards, and motherboards, enabling partners to prioritize the development of their own branded computing products.  At present, 11 global manufacturers have launched their own branded server and PC products based on Kunpeng motherboards.

Up to now, Huawei and industry partners have jointly established 15 Kunpeng Ecological Innovation Centers, and launched more than 1,500 Kunpeng technology-certified products and solutions with more than 600 ISV partners.

"We also welcome more partners to join us to jointly create and share a new blue ocean for this computing industry. We hope that 90% of applications can be run on Kunpeng within three years," Hou Jinlong said.
