Volkswagen said it is developing ID.1, an entry-level electric car with a target price of $22,000, according to UKโ€™s CAR magazine.

Like other ID models, ID.1 is also built on the MEB platform, and may debut on the market around 2023.

The car is expected to offer two different battery pack options, most likely 24kWh and 36kWh. The battery range of the larger battery pack will reach 185 miles (298 kilometers).

Volkswagen plans to launch up to 75 all-electric models and about 60 hybrid vehicles by 2029.

Of course, this figure will include electric cars and hybrids of other brands of Volkswagen. The company hopes to sell 1 million electric vehicles a year by 2023.

In September last year, Volkswagen released ID.3, the first model of the ID series electric car. This car is the company's first electric car built on the new MEB platform. Less than 33,000 US dollars.

Volkswagen said that the car will not be delivered until the summer of 2020, and the first ID.3 models will be on the road in Germany in mid-2020.

Last week, the company said that ID.3 electric cars would be cheaper than gasoline cars. Once delivery begins, the company plans to deliver 30,000 vehicles "almost simultaneously."

In September last year, Volkswagen first demonstrated its next-generation ID electric car ID.4 at the Frankfurt Motor Show. This car is the second production model in the company's electric car series and will be the first to enter the US market. ID electric car.

ID.4 is based on the ID CROZZ concept car and is expected to be launched in 2020. Given that ID.3 is only for the European market, ID.4 will be Volkswagen's first global electric vehicle built on the MEB platform. At the same time, this car will also be produced globally.

Last fall, rumors of ID.2 began to spread. This car is about the same size as a Volkswagen Polo, but with more interior space, this car will compete with Renault Zoe and Peugeot e-208.
