Dependency metadata

When building an app using the Android Gradle plug-in 4.0.0-beta02 and later, the plug-in contains metadata describing dependencies that have been compiled into the app. When the application is uploaded, the Play Console checks this metadata and provides the following:

Get alerts on known issues with SDKs and dependencies used by your app

Receive actionable feedback to resolve these issues

The data is compressed, encrypted with a Google Play signing key, and stored in the signature field of the published application. You can check the metadata yourself in a local intermediate build file in the following directory: //build/outputs/sdk-dependencies/release/sdkDependency.txt.
