Nio's February delivery fell 12% year-on-year to 707 units, of which ES6 delivered 671 units, the company annoucement on Tuesday.
The new ES8 will begin delivery in April this year. Since the start of delivery in June 2018, Nio has delivered a total of 34,218 units across the brand, of which 2,305 units have been delivered in 2020.
Li Bin, founder, chairman and CEO of Nio, said that affected by the epidemic, China's passenger car sales in February 2020 fell 78.5% year-on-year and Nio's deliveries also fell 12.8% year-on-year.
"Deliveries have been constrained as services are being cautiously reopened and people are encouraged to avoid unnecessary close-range contact."
He said Nio's plant has resumed operations since mid-February and has begun ramping up production capacity. At the same time, most NIO House and NIO Space have resumed operations.
"At the same time, we are actively expanding online sales channels and introducing products, technologies and services to potential users live on high-traffic platforms. Benefiting from Nio App's mature online sales system, our direct sales model has played a key role in today's environment. "
As of February 29, 2020, Nio has opened 83 stores across the country, including 22 Nio centers and 61 Nio spaces, and its sales network has covered 59 cities across the country.
Nio shares went up by 9% in pre-market trading.
