The "Apple Watch Series 6", which is the sixth generation of Apple smartwatch, will add blood oxygen monitoring, according to Apple Insider.

In fact, since the first generation of products, blood oxygen monitoring hardware has been in the Apple Watch, Apple has never taken this part of the data alone as a key feature, but the sixth generation of products this fall may change this situation.

If a person's blood oxygen is below a healthy level, that is, arterial blood oxygen content is below 90% -100%, it may cause heart health problems and even cardiac arrest.

This feature of the Apple Watch is set for this purpose, and the next generation of watches may push hypoxic notifications.

Earlier, Fitbit, another health bracelet/watch maker, launched a software update feature in January this year that allows some of its smart watches to track blood oxygen levels.

According to 9to5Mac, this technology may appear in the future, and it will also upgrade the ECG electrocardiogram function.

In fact, starting with Apple Watch Series 4, users can perform ECG measurement through the digital crown.

However, this function is not 100% perfect, and if the heart rate is too high, it will return inconclusive results. It is rumored that the 6th generation watch will allow ECG inspection in a larger range.

However, blood oxygen monitoring and electrocardiogram functions both require FDA (US Food and Drug Administration) approval in the United States because they belong to the medical device category. After the latter went online, only users in some countries can use it for this reason.

So whether they can be used depends not only on Apple's research and development speed, but also on the approval of local authorities.

In the past few years, Apple Watch has repeatedly predicted people's heart disease and made advance notice, which has allowed it to save people's lives many times.

Apple CEO Tim Cook has also made it clear that more "preventive medical technologies" are being developed.
