Samsung Galaxy S20 series smartphones have been launched in South Korea recently, but the sales performance does not seem to be dazzling. However, this has nothing to do with the phone itself, and was also affected by the corona virus outbreak.
According to The Korea Herald, sales of the Galaxy S20 series smartphones have fallen by 50% compared to the same period last year.
Although about 70,800 new Galaxy S20 series phones were sold in South Korea on Thursday, the comparison with the 140,000 sales of the Galaxy S10 series launched in March 2019 within 24 hours is still not enough.
Not to mention the Galaxy Note 10 sales: the Galaxy Note 10 sold 220,000 units within 24 hours of launch.
Although the evaluation of the Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G is different, the main reason for the insufficient sales of the S20 is the new coronavirus outbreak.
South Korea is the country with the largest number of confirmed cases outside China, which means that consumers often choose not to buy equipment in retail stores because of concerns about infection.
In addition, Samsung also canceled some Galaxy S20 promotions, and the advertising of the new machine is not as good as the previous models.
Another problem is that South Korea lacks corresponding discounts and low subsidies for machine purchases, which leads consumers to choose to wait and see because there is no corresponding discount before starting a new machine.
In addition to the impact of the new coronavirus on Samsung, it also affects the development of other mobile phone manufacturers. If the epidemic is effectively controlled in the next step, it is believed that the mobile phone market will gradually pick up.
