The Huawei Search app has now been released in beta version to replace the Google app in overseas markets. It requires the latest version of Huawei Mobile Services (HMS) to be installed first.
At the terminal product and strategy online conference held on February 24, Huawei launched the new App Gallery application store.
At that time, Huawei stated that it should take HMS Huawei's service architecture as the core and build its own service architecture system.
The installation interface shows that the Huawei Search App "quick answers inspire you and interest in exploring the world and provide you with intelligent services with the best localization."
The application needs to be connected to the network and obtain the following permissions or information: device storage (read and store screenshots in feedback), text messages, emails, contacts, schedules, notes and to-do, settings and information of installed applications and accounts, devices , Network, service usage information.
According to Huawei, the permissions are designed to provide web, image, video, news, and local content search functions, as well as provide users with a "feedback" function.
The Huawei Search App has three columns: Explore, Search and My. Among them, the exploration interface has three parts: a search box, a widget (quick application), and an information flow.
The gadgets it includes by default include weather, sports, unit conversion, and calculator.
It should be noted that the Huawei Search App is currently unavailable in China, and the information flow section will display "Unable to connect to the server, please click the screen to retry".
The Huawei Search App will be part of the HMS ecosystem and will soon land on the App Gallery app store, supporting Huawei and Honor devices, and is expected to replace the Google app.
