Apple today released Beta 3 of iOS 13.4 developer preview. Some of the code indicates that Apple is developing an over-the-air (OTA) system restore function designed for iPhone and iPad.
9to5Mac found the code for the hidden "OS Recovery" feature that seems to provide a way to restore iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch or HomePod without having to connect a computer.
The feature seems to allow the restore to be done wirelessly, or by connecting the device to another "iPhone" or "iPad" using a USB connection.
Currently, if your iPhone 的 or iPad fails, you need to use a Mac or PC to restore the firmware, which is very inconvenient.
Because some people no longer use computers, and Apple has worked hard to eliminate the need to use computers to operate iOS devices.
Devices such as "Apple Watch" and "HomePod" do not even have the ability to restore the system because they do not have a connector, which is an issue that the OS Recovery feature can solve.
macOS has a similar Internet Recovery feature that has been available for some time, which allows you to use a software downloaded over the network to restore your Mac system.
