Nio shares surged about 22% in pre-market trading after previous reports said its China headquarters will be located in Hefei and planned to raise 10 billion yuan.
Nio signed a cooperation framework agreement with Hefei City, and leaders of Anhui Province and Hefei City attended the signing site. According to the agreement, the Nio China headquarters project will be settled in Hefei, Sina Tech reported on Tuesday.
On April 6, 2016, Nio announced a strategic cooperation agreement with JAC. The two parties initially confirmed that the production and sales plan is 50,000 vehicles per year, and the Nio ES 8 is manufactured by JAC. Subsequently, the two parties jointly built the Nio Hefei plant.
According to Anhuinews.com, eight projects, including the Nio China headquarters project, were signed today in Hefei, with a total investment of 102 billion yuan.
The project of Nio China Headquarters includes the establishment of Nio China Headquarters in Hefei, the establishment of R&D, sales and production bases, and the establishment of a China headquarters operating system centered on Hefei.
The project plans to raise more than 10 billion yuan, and Nio China is expected to become a leading enterprise with a production value of 100 billion yuan in 5 years after settling in Hefei, the Anhuinews.com report said.

Nio EC6 mass production project also started, the report said.
EC6, debuted at the NIO Day in 2019 is the third model of Nio's mass produced car at Hefei Jianghuai Nio's advanced manufacturing base. It is expected to announce prices and configurations in July 2020 and start delivery in September.
It takes 4.7 seconds for the EC6 to accelerate at 100 kilometers. In addition to adapting to existing battery packs, the EC6 can also be equipped with a 100 kWh liquid-cooled thermostatic battery pack that will be newly launched in 2020, thereby achieving NEDC battery life of up to 615 kilometers.
