App Gallery has more than 400 million monthly active users and 55,000 apps are available for download, Huawei said.

Huawei recently announced that it will launch a 5G phone using HMS services in Europe on February 24th. This is the first overseas Android phone to use non-GMS services.

GMS is an indispensable application for global Android phones (except for the Chinese market). It is also the key to Google's control of the Android market while free and open-source Android system. In the past, mobile phone manufacturers and Google used GMS to cooperate normally.

Beginning in May last year, the United States banned U.S. companies from cooperating with Huawei, and Google's GMS was also unavailable. This has a significant impact on Huawei's overseas markets, especially the European market.

HMS Huawei Mobile Service is Huawei 's response to the ban on GMS. For Huawei 's goals, even if it is not blocked, HMS and its Harmony OS are the same.

Compared with Google's GMS, Huawei's HMS mobile service was first announced at the HDC conference last year. At that time, there were 14 services, including 9 basic services and 5 growth services, but by February it had expanded to 24 services.

Despite the difficulties, Huawei still promotes HMS in Europe, Russia, the Middle East and other regions. Previously, it invested 10 million US dollars in Russia to attract local developers. One week ago, Turkish telecommunications company Turkcell also reached an agreement with Huawei to plan to sell 1 million HMS-based HMS. Smartphone.

At the Dutch Developers Conference earlier this month, Huawei continued to call on European developers to join the HMS ecosystem, with the intention of breaking up the GMS ecosystem in Europe.

In the New Year Letter for Consumer Terminals in early January, Huawei Consumer Business CEO Richard Yu stated that Huawei is committed to building Huawei Terminal Cloud Services (HMS) this year, which now covers more than 170 countries and regions around the world, with 400 million monthly active users.

Richard Yu emphasized that Huawei is unswervingly globalizing, and must prioritize overseas ecological problems, not pursue short-term commercial benefits, and gradually restore the total overseas business in a few years.
