Xiaomi cuts TV panel orders due to coronavirus outbreak, report says-CnTechPost

Under the influence of the new coronavirus pneumonia epidemic, the sales of home electric wires were suspended, and all household appliances fell by about 80%. Affected by this, home appliance companies have reduced their production, and Xiaomi is among them.

Panel purchases generally reflect the pre-production of color TV companies. Chinastarmarket.cn has learned from multiple sources that Xiaomi has begun to cut orders.

The report stated that insiders from JD.com learned that Xiaomi TV sales were good during the epidemic. On the one hand, the price is favorable, and on the other hand, it is supported by "rice noodles."

Insiders of a color TV company in Shenzhen said that it was normal to cut orders and reduce production. Because in recent years, color TV sales rely on improved demand. At present, offline sales cannot be expected. E-commerce channels have shipments, but the community is closed, and the distribution of large-sized TVs is a big problem.

Why the sales champion was the first to cut the order, industry insiders believe that "domestic sales-oriented companies are most affected, and Xiaomi is currently the company with the most inventory pressure. Because of good sales in 2019, the plan is more aggressive and the inventory is larger."

Some people in the channel also confirmed that because of the large shipments of Xiaomi in 2019, the larger the shipments, the greater the incentive to increase stocking, so a certain amount of inventory has been accumulated.

Xiaomi's TV shipments and sales ranked first in China in 2019, with shipments reaching 10.46 million units, becoming the first TV brand in China with annual shipments exceeding 10 million, Xiaomi TV announced on Weibo on February 12.

On December 30, 2019, Jiang Cong, general manager of Xiaomi China's sales operations, said Xiaomi TV has completed the goal of selling 10 million units in the Chinese market in 2019 in advance.
