By 2022, 5G will drive social and economic growth in China's digital economy by 25%, IDC said in a report on February 7.
Zhan Molei, research manager of the IDC China Smart City and Government Industry Research Group, said the government has introduced a number of policies in the digital transformation around the Internet + government services, big data, cloud computing and other aspects in recent years.
China's industry informatization construction has entered a new era of digital government construction, and it is playing an increasingly obvious role in innovating government governance and service models, improving administrative management and service efficiency.
The following are the details of IDC's top ten predictions:
Prediction 1: Accountability mechanism for AI applications
Through strategic planning and governance of algorithms, ethics and change management. By 2023, 35% of Chinese government agencies will further prevent abuses of rights, violations of rights, and ensure employee dedication.
Prediction 2: Application of Digital Transformation Platform
Without an intelligent, secure, and scalable digital transformation platform, 60% of Chinese government agencies will not be able to enhance services, simplify operations, empower employees, and complete tasks by 2022.
Prediction 3: Blockchain-enabled identity management
By 2022, from birth certificates to driver's licenses, to passports, and more, 35% of Chinese government agencies will issue blockchain identity certifications that can track citizens' lives and enable them to receive benefits.
Prediction 4: Information Security
Chinese government agencies will continue to increase their investment in information security departments in response to social engineering, social deception, fake news, and other digital propaganda.
Prediction 5: 5G applications
By 2022, 5G will promote the creation of mixed reality, autonomous landscapes, and edge-based ecosystems, which will drive social and economic growth in China's digital economy by 25%.
Prediction 6: Innovative Organization Management Technology
By 2022, 25% of Chinese government agencies will adopt organizational skills and technological innovations that affect future jobs to enhance their ability to recruit, train and retain key talent.
Prediction 7: Autonomy of Personal Information
By 2025, 30% of Chinese government agencies will allow citizens to monitor the information collected about them and provide tools to update incorrect information. But security information may still be opaque.
Prediction 8: Surge in Government Applications
By 2021, 90% of Chinese government agencies will adopt a platform approach to develop applications, making it easier for citizens to access services.
Prediction 9: Restrictive Intelligence Policy
By 2025, in order to cope with pressure from citizens and advocacy groups, 35% of new-generation public safety technology procurement will have a strict policy framework to pre-define specifications.
Prediction10: Automation of Administrative Approval
By 2022, 35% of Chinese government agencies will use better customer intelligence and robotic processes to automate citizen services in real time.
