Supported devices for the iOS 14 will be the same as iOS 13, but the latest version of iPadOS will no longer support some older iPads, according to France-based iPhonesoft.
Apple iOS 13 has dropped support for many older iPhones, including iPhone 5s and iPhone 6, and only supports iPhone 6s or later.
Given that Apple dropped support for two older iPhones at iOS 13, iOS 14 maintaining the number of supported devices in the previous generation is undoubtedly good news for older iPhone users.
However, the report said that the iPad mini 4 and iPad Air 2 will no longer be supported in the next version of iPadOS, which will be equipped with A8 / X chips.
iOS 14 compatible devices according to the report:
- iPhone 11 Pro
- iPhone 11 Pro Max
- iPhone 11
- iPhone XS Max
- iPhone XS
- iPhone XR
- iPhone X
- iPhone 8
- iPhone 8 Plus
- iPhone 7
- iPhone 7 Plus
- iPhone 6s
- iPhone 6s Plus
- iPhone SE
The report said ย that Apple will add some more powerful new features to the new version of iOS 14, which are undoubtedly not supported by the iPad mini 4 / iPad Air 2.
While iOS 14 is still under development, it is expected that iOS 14 and the next version of iPadOS will debut at WWDC 2020. The conference is expected to be held in June 2020.
