Huawei does not build cars but will help automakers build good cars through end-cloud collaboration, said Lu Xiaofeng, general manager of Huawei's V2X product line, on January 15.
Lu Xiaofeng made the remarks while attending the 2020 China 5G Smart Car Summit Forum in Shanghai. He believes that cars are changing and user needs are changing.
The change of the car is towards the new quaternization, and users are pursuing the ultimate experience, including easy-to-use voice control, remote software upgrades, social entertainment networking, natural language interaction, etc.
Although Huawei does not build cars, it will still play a very important role in the transformation of the automotive industry.
According to Lu Xiaofeng, Huawei has the core-end-pipe-cloud synergy advantage and can provide autonomous, controllable and manageable core components and solutions.
At the same time, Huawei will also build an open intelligent networking platform and ecosystem to enhance the driving experience and intelligent future travel services.
Huawei is promoting the application of 5G technology, and in conjunction with SAIC and China Mobile, it is building a 5G connected car that can support 5G/LTE-V communication.
In June 2019, Huawei issued an internal document announcing the establishment of a smart car solution BU, which is under the management of the ICT Management Committee.
There had been rumors that Zheng Gang, the former general manager of BAIC New Energy, has joined Huawei. Last week, Zheng confirmed this by taking part in an event for electric vehicles as the chief strategy officer of Huawei Intelligent Vehicle Solutions BU.
In November 2019, there were rumors that Zheng had joined Huawei and would serve as the vice president of Huawei's smart car solutions business unit. Huawei did not confirm the news at the time.
