Apple has submitted an application to the Eurasian Economic Commission for a new MacBook model A2289, which is described as a portable Mac product running macOS Catalina, according to Mac Rumors.
Generally, if Apple wants to sell encrypted devices in Russia or other European countries, it needs to be recorded in the Eurasian Economic Commission database.
Some previous Apple products were also exposed through the Eurasian Economic Commission database, including Mac, iPhone, iPad, iPad Pro, Apple Watch and AirPods.
This device is most likely a 13-inch Apple MacBook Pro with scissors keyboard.
Earlier, Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicted that Apple will introduce the scissors keyboard into the 13-inch MacBook Pro/MacBook Air in 2020, so this new MacBook product is more likely to use the scissors keyboard. However, it is not yet confirmed whether the MacBook 13 is a new MacBook Air.
Apple's submission to the EEC usually means that this new product is about to be released, usually a few months later.
