Samsung's latest foldable smartphone is called Galaxy Bloom instead of the Galaxy Fold 2 as previously reported, Aju News said on Friday. Now Twiter user Waqar Khan (@WaqarKhanHD) has released latest render images of the phone based on current information.
Judging from the images, the Galaxy Bloom may use a center-mounted perforated screen design and uses an up-down folding style. On the outside of the phone, a horizontally arranged dual camera is used, with a smaller display next to it.
There have been rumors that Samsung was developing its clamshell foldable smartphone code-named "Bloom". Recently, Samsung revealed the name of its next-generation foldable smartphone at a closed-door meeting with CES partners.
DJ Koh, CEO of Samsung Mobile, spoke about the company's upcoming product at this CES closed-door meeting. Samsung is expected to name its upcoming foldable smartphone Galaxy Bloom, Aju News said.
The report also provided a leaked image that looked like a presentation slideshow with an image of a foldable smartphone and the Bloom name.
Koh said that the design of the Galaxy Bloom is inspired by French cosmetics giant Lancรดme's compact makeup powder. The company will conduct a survey on this product, mainly targeting women in their 20s, so the product design will make them more familiar.
It is reported that Samsung Galaxy S20 and Galaxy Bloom both support 8K video recording. Samsung has reportedly been working with Google to stream 8K videos to YouTube.
The new foldable screen phone will be officially released on February 11, 2020, along with the Samsung Galaxy S20 series phones.
