Xiaomi's MIUI will pre-install Google Dialer and Google Messaging in mobile phones sold in the global market in the future, Xiaomi MIUI said in a recent announcement in the Xiaomi global community.
The change applies to all devices after Xiaomi 9T Pro sold worldwide. In other words, in the future, the international version of the model will no longer pre-install MIUI's own dialing and messaging apps but will use Google's native dialing and messaging apps.
The adjustment is to comply with local privacy policies and laws and regulations, and the international version of Xiaomi mobile phones uses Google Mobile Services itself. This change will also optimize the experience of international users.

Hello Mi Fans!
At the moment, we're having endless queries on Global Mi Community, and to be honest, most of these are related to Google Phone & Messages on the Global Xiaomi phones. Well, the responsibility of replying to these queries obviously falls on us and hereby, I'd like to draw your attention to this article!!
MIUI ROMs are usually adapted to the needs of the regions where Xiaomi devices get launched and sold, and only for that, you get quite a lot of choices for your phone: China version (CN), Global version (MI), EEA version (EU), Indian version (IN), Indonesian version (ID) and Russian version (RU). Well, it seems, all devices that got/will get launched globally after Mi 9T Pro (including itself as well), were/will be pushed out with Google Phone, Messages and no longer deliver pre-installed MIUI Dialer, Messaging. It is due to privacy laws and restrictions around the globe - these devices are now making use of GMS or Google Mobile Services, a bunch of applications and APIs aimed at letting your handset ensure a great user experience right out of the box.
Global ROMs and EEA ROMs of new Xiaomi devices will no longer have MIUI Dialer and Messaging, rather Google Phone and Messages will come pre-installed on these. Devices launched before Mi 9T Pro aren't expected to have these apps.
As a result, MIUI functions such as Call recording are unavailable on these ROMs right now - however, as per a report by MIUI Pilot Team, it'll be obtainable again in 2020, along with Google Phone and the latest Xiaomi software! We do appreciate your continued support and patience meanwhile.
