Huawei's second-generation foldable phone will use Samsung's foldable display, Huawei Central reported Saturday citing supply chain sources from China.
In October last year, Huawei's first foldable phone, the Mate X was released in the Chinese market.
It uses panels made by LG Display and BOE. However, due to BOE's quality and quantity reasons, Huawei intends to cooperate with Samsung Display, Electronic Times reported on Friday.
Richard Yu, CEO of Huawei Consumer Business, previously said that Huawei will release an upgraded version of Huawei Mate X at the MWC2020 conference. The phone will have a better hinge design, a better processor, and a better folding screen.
He Gang, President of Huawei Mobile Phone Product Line, said earlier that Huawei was developing the Mate Xs and it will be equipped with the Kirin 990 5G processor. It is expected to go on sale in March.
