The demand for AirPods Pro stays high as Chinese buyers have to wait up to 4 weeks before Apple ships them. To solve this issue, Apple may add a Chinese supplier in the first half of the year.
Tianfeng International analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said in a report on Thursday that Apple may have approached Chinese company Goertek to help it produce AirPods Pro.
This also means that Goertek will become the second AirPods Pro supplier after Luxshare Precision, which will ultimately help the company meet consumer demand for the next-generation AirPods Pro.
Kuo predicts that Luxshare Precision will have 50โ60% of AirPods series orders in 2020. Goertek is expected to obtain AirPods Pro assembly orders in the first half of 2020.
In the recent holiday sales season, the supply of AirPods Pro is a bit low, and one machine is hard to find. Some analysts point out that Apple is still struggling to meet consumer demand.
In addition, the overall interest in AirPods has exploded in recent months. A research report a few weeks ago showed that Apple's cumulative shipments of AirPods in 2019 are expected to double from 2018.
At the end of October, Apple's launched the AirPods Pro wireless earbuds, which supports active noise reduction. The price is 1,999 yuan, and it has been purchased by a large number of users.
Now Apple's website shows that the shipping date of AirPods Pro after purchase is extended to 4 weeks, which means that the official website will be out of stock for a long time. At present, AirPods Pro does not have much supply in the Apple Store.
