Huawei announced on September 19 that its server operating system EulerOS will become open source under the new name openEuler.
Hou Jinlong, president of Huawei Cloud & AI products and services, also revealed at the time that Huawei was preparing open source communities with companies such as Red Flag and Wuhan Shenzhidu.
Recently, the openEuler open source community has finanlly made public the source code, mirroring, and development testing environment, marking the first step in the open operation of the openEuler community.
As the project leader, Huawei said it will gradually open up its technology accumulation in the field of ICT basic software, and open source the basic platform capabilities in the operating system, compiler / JDK and other fields to the openEuler community.
In the openEuler community, participants can download operating system installation packages or source code, quickly understand and master the implementation of the openEuler operating system, and participate in the innovation and practice of the community in depth.
In addition to the standard components, the openEuler community has also incubated two open source sub-projects: A-Tune and iSula.
A-Tune is an intelligent performance optimization system software, which is a precise model for business applications is established through a machine learning engine and then intelligently based on business load Match the optimal operating system configuration parameter combination to improve the overall operating efficiency of the system.
iSula is a cloud-native lightweight container solution that can meet the multiple needs of the ICT field end, edge, and cloud scenarios through a unified and flexible architecture.
Developers can obtain relevant code and documents for reference and learning, and to understand the architecture and source code of the openEuler operating system.
The openEuler has two main code repositories:

https://gitee.com/src-openeuler
In addition, Hou Jinlong also announced that Huawei's database GaussDB will also be open source, which currently covers 70% of enterprise business scenarios, and will be fully online before June 30, 2020.
