China Unicom's eSIM services that support one number for two devices will be launched nationwide, the company announced on December 31.
In the warm-up poster, China Unicom boasts two major selling points: free to open, convenient and fast; preferential tariffs, more choices.
"One number for two devices" is actually a service that allows mobile phones and smart watches and other devices to share one number through eSIM, both of which can independently implement calls and cellular connections.
After this function is turned on, even if the mobile phone is not around, you can use the attached device to make calls, and you can be online at any time without the mobile phone, which provides a richer use scenario for wearable devices.
As early as a week ago, China Unicom has opened eSIM testing in Beijing, Shijiazhuang, Chengdu, Hefei, Gansu, Liaoning and other places, and Apple Watch users who support one number for two devices can open it for free.
The experience period is 12 months. During the experience period, the activation fee and monthly rental fee are waived, and the monthly function fee of 10 yuan will be charged starting from the month after the end of the experience period.
