The report said that in mid-2018, Xiaomi applied for a design patent for a scalable mobile phone, which was approved and issued on December 6, 2019.
The patent includes 14 product pictures. The picture shows that the phone can be pulled out and transformed into a tablet size, and the display area doubles.
The picture shows that the screen border of the smartphone in the patent is very narrow. On the left is a side bar with a selfie camera with two camera lenses.
There are also dual cameras on the back, but these cameras are not integrated in the sidebar, but on the other side of the device.
The sidebar is not only used for selfie cameras, but also contains a mechanism in which a flexible screen is integrated. Although the picture does not provide any details, it may be a scrolling system.
