Stadia, Googleโ€™s game streaming service that is set to launch on November 19, has already landedย on the Google Play Store and can be downloaded on supported phones.

Upon opening the Google Stadia app from the Play Store, users would see a screen promoting Destiny 2, which is expected to be one of the first games that will be offered to Stadia users.

Stadia is an all-new gaming platform that lets you play games across screens. Stadia is one place for all the ways we play, the appโ€™s description said.

At launch, Stadia supports Chrome OS tablets including Pixel Slate, Acer Chromebook Tab 10, and HP Chromebook X2, and Pixel 2, Pixel 3, Pixel 3a, and Pixel 4 family phones.

To play Stadia, youโ€™ll also need a code that will be provided to you with a qualified purchase, such as Stadia Founderโ€™s Edition or Stadia Premiere Edition.

If you are new to the gaming streaming services, here is what Stadia can do according to its description:

  • Play with one click.
  • The moment you purchase a game, itโ€™s ready to play as long as you have Wi-Fi. Stadia takes care of all the game patches and updates so you never have to wait for a game download or in-game update again.
  • Smooth, beautiful, low-latency gameplay.
  • Stadia delivers a gorgeous picture at up to 4K and 60 FPS with HDR. Specific resolution, HDR, framerate, and gameplay experience will depend on your individual device capabilities, connection, and games. Stadia Pro subscription may be required for access to some features.
  • Always getting better.
  • Stadia is constantly being updated and improved. You wonโ€™t need to upgrade your console or PC hardware to play the latest games, because Stadia already does that for you behind the scenes.

The Google Stadia app will be available for both Android and iOS and will be the primary way to buy games.

The UI Engineering Lead for Google Stadia, John McDole confirm that the Stadia app is built upon Flutter,ย Googleโ€™s cross-platform app SDK.

This means that the iOS version should offer a near-identical experience to what weโ€™re seeing on Android today, once Stadia launches in the App Store.

Buyers will be able to purchase Founder's Edition of Google Stadia for $129.99. It will also come with a free copy of Destiny 2 game. After the free subscription is over, users will have to pay $9.99 per month.

It will come to 14 countries, including the US, UK, Canada, Ireland, France, Italy, Spain and the Netherlands.
